What changed
On October 21, 2026, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) updated its processing information page with five new draws:
- October 20, 2026, Alberta Express Entry Stream, Priority Sectors (General): minimum score 60, 386 invitations
- October 16, 2026, Alberta Express Entry Stream, Law Enforcement Pathway: minimum score 49, fewer than 10 invitations

- October 9, 2026, Alberta Express Entry Stream, Priority Sectors (Health care): minimum score 60, 97 invitations
The page also corrected the June 15, 2026 Priority Sectors (Manufacturing) draw. It now shows a minimum score of 56 and 50 invitations; the two figures were previously listed the other way around.
Nominations and processing
AAIP reports the following for 2026:
- 5,831 nominations issued out of an allocation of 6,603
- 772 spaces remaining
- 856 applications to be processed
The "currently assessing applications received on or before" dates are now:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream: July 16, 2026
- Rural Renewal Stream: September 4, 2026
- Tourism and Hospitality Stream: October 21, 2026
- Accelerated Tech Pathway: July 1, 2026
- Law Enforcement Pathway: September 24, 2026
A previous Alberta Opportunity Stream note about applicants who received a work permit support letter was removed. The page now states that nomination allocations may be exceeded under a small Express Entry administrative overage provided by the Government of Canada.
The expression of interest (EOI) pool now totals 33,291, down from 34,478.
Who it affects
These updates concern candidates in the AAIP EOI pool and applicants waiting for assessment in these streams. AAIP states that its draws are not regularly scheduled and that the EOI score is not the only selection factor.
