What changed
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) refreshed its processing-time data file. The file shows a last-updated date of October 9, 2026, and states that it is updated monthly.
Among the updated entries:
- Proof of citizenship: the listed processing time is "About 34 months".
- AIP (Atlantic Immigration Program): the data lists how many people are ahead of an applicant, by month of application. For example, for September 2026 the figure is "About 11,500 people ahead of you". For January 2025 it is "About 1,400 people ahead of you".
- Caregiver: the "people ahead of you" figures by application month were also updated. For example, the April 2023 entry reads "About 16,900 people ahead of you".
IRCC words these figures as approximations ("About...").

The update concerns people who have applied for proof of citizenship, or for permanent residence through the AIP or caregiver categories, and who use IRCC's figures to follow their application.
