What changed

As of October 14, 2026, Immigration New Brunswick has removed additional restrictions on candidate endorsement applications under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). Endorsement applications may now be submitted for all occupations except the following:

  • NOC 14400 – Shippers and receivers
  • NOC 60030 – Restaurant and food service managers
  • NOC 62020 – Food service supervisors
  • NOC 94142 – Fish and seafood plant workers

TEER 5 occupations are not eligible under the program.

The previous notice, effective September 14, 2026, listed four retail occupations as restricted: NOC 60020, 62010, 64100 and 62101. These codes no longer appear on the restricted list.

Who it affects

The change affects candidates seeking an AIP endorsement from New Brunswick.

Endorsement applications for positions offered to foreign nationals residing outside Canada remain limited to recruitment initiatives led by the Government of New Brunswick in three sectors:

  • health care
  • education
  • construction

The same page states that meeting the eligibility requirements does not mean an endorsement application will be selected for processing, because endorsement allocations are limited.

Effective date

The change took effect on October 14, 2026.
