Québec: the PEQ's first intake window closes on October 31, 2026

The Québec Experience Program (PEQ) was abolished on November 19, 2025, then temporarily reopened for two years, from July 2, 2026 to July 2, 2028. Its first intake window opened on July 2, 2026 and closes on October 31, 2026. Québec's announcement does not mention any other intake window.
Who can apply
You must have met the program's criteria on November 19, 2025, in one of its two streams:
- Québec graduates: a Québec bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree, a technical DEC, or a DEP (alone or followed by an ASP), totalling at least 1,800 hours.
- Temporary foreign workers: at least two years of work experience in Québec in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation. TEER 4 and 5 occupations are not recognized in this program.
Other conditions apply, such as being in Québec and having valid status while your application is processed.
French
You need oral French at level 7 and written French at level 5 on Québec's French proficiency scale (Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français). The requirement to have studied in French no longer applies to the Québec graduates stream.
How to apply
Applications are submitted in Arrima, using the new online forms Québec published in June 2026; older forms are not accepted. Québec does not cap the number of applications during the window. If you apply to both the PEQ and the PSTQ, you pay the fees for both, and they are not refunded. Québec has not renewed its six-month processing commitment, because a high volume of applications could lengthen processing times.
Read Québec's PEQ page and its announcement of the temporary reopening (both in French). Our Québec immigration page explains the PSTQ, PEQ, CSQ and CAQ. Québec-stage services are provided by Québec-recognized immigration consultants working with ANAS CANADA.
No one can guarantee an immigration outcome. Decisions are made by IRCC, ESDC and the provinces.
